EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
I started learning the piano at age 6 and did all my grades in the piano and violin at the Royal Academy of Music. I have an BA in Arts from University College Dublin and then went on to do the group teaching diploma at the Royal Academy of Music and teach in schools and large groups. During the holidays I run Piano and Theory camps. I have also done preinstrumental classes for 3-5 in Waltons School of music.
TEACHING APPROACH
I like to have a mixture of technical exercises in the lesson and either prepare for exams or build up a rich repertoire for my students. Performance is also an important part of learning an instrument and I encourage my students to play in a group setting, We do our Christmas concert every year in the local hall. This year the students have done a midsummer concert online with a few treats afterwards. It has been proven that learning an instrument has many key benefits to both young and old and I looking forward to sharing this amazing journey with you.
